There’s been great progress on the insaka at Linda Community School today – thanks largely to a tremendous effort by children of all ages from the school. While the roof arrived (grass which had to unusually be obtained at a great distance because of the ongoing drought), attention focussed on completing the wall being made from eco bricks (plastic drinks bottles filled with rubbish). At the start of the day we needed about a thousand more – and got them! They came from a variety of sources, including the children. Many of them then voluntarily set about filling them with dirt and sand or rubbish to help us. It was an emotional experience seeing how willing they were to work under a hot sun to help their school. A massive ‘well done’ (and thanks) to all of them.
