It was a blast…and not just an arctic one!
Massive thanks to the over 150 guests, musicians, Choristers and parents who braved the weather and joined us for the 2024 Zambezi Sunrise Music Night in Durham last night. In the morning we weren’t sure if Storm Bert was going to get the better of us but we went ahead and it was a great night. With a special surprise opening by children from The Chorister School singing a song learned from their linked school in Zambia, to performances by Sons of Sheila, David Neil Crabtree and Hayley McKay, we were treated to some wonderful music. We were also delighted to debut our new Zambezi Sunrise Trust video. Thanks go to all the musicians as well as all the volunteers who helped us set up (and pack everything away) and look after the stalls, as well as all the donors of auction and raffle prizes (and all the bidders and winners!). There is still some maths to do but despite losing some guests because of the weather the night will have raised £4,000…..and 65 more bears were named and will be on their way to Zambia next year.
