Day 5 of our trustees’ visit saw a welcome return to the original Nekacheya School site. Term doesn’t start until Monday but Grade 7 (the senior primary school grade) have been working through the holidays to prepare for their examinations to get into secondary school. Our trustee John has spent a total of five months volunteer teaching at Nekacheya in the past and it was great to reunite with teacher Mumba and other members of staff. We also visited the new Nekacheya site with head teacher Grace. We arranged with the contractor to build a wall for the girls’ shower in the ablution block we recently completed. This shower will allow older girls to have uninterrupted attendance at school. Materials were later purchased and work begins soon. The day ended with a drop off of previously purchased school supplies for Linda Sunrise Pre-School.
