Yes, toilets and doors – and we’re excited about them!
This year, as well as funding the planned ongoing construction projects of our own, we are supporting the completion of some building projects at other schools that have stalled because of Covid related funding issues. This will make sure that the schools can continue to progress and expand in 2022. First up is Nekacheya School in Livingstone. They are in the process of developing a new site to give more space for their pupils. The first necessity is a toilet block, which was almost completed before Covid forced repeated closures. Zambezi Sunrise Trust is funding the final six toilets, eight internal doors and the interior and external plastering to finish the block. It is already plumbed in, with septic pits dug and bore hole water coming via a 5,000 litre tank we supplied last year. Completion of the ablution block will allow the school to get back on track with their plans and start to look at classroom construction.
