Yesterday was a long day, with our trustees Joanne and John joining Grace and Herbert Malambo from Nekacheya School for a 19 hour return road trip to Lusaka to obtain books and chitenge material. After over six hours to get there, John, Grace and Herbert met with the Ministry of Education’s Chief Librarian Robinson Bwato. He very kindly effected the donation of 300 new books from Book Aid International for our new library at Linda Community School and 300 to Nekacheya. While they were doing that, Joanne was in the market buying hundreds of metres of chitenge material for a forthcoming Tiyese Craft Club project. Everyone then went for our third annual visit to Longmans Publishers to buy textbooks for Nekacheya and Linda Community School – largely funded by the sponsored walks they held last year. Books were also bought for Linda Sunrise Pre School and Homework Club. It was then eight hours back – well done Herbert for doing all the driving!
