Here’s a great story about World Book Day that involves…..books (but no dressing up). Yesterday Grace Malambo, head teacher at Nekacheya School, and her husband Herbert set off before dawn from Livingstone on an 18 hour round trip to Lusaka to get books for her school, and two other schools. For the past two years Zambezi Sunrise Trust has paid the registration fee to secure book donations from Book Aid International to Nekacheya and Linda Community School. This year we added Njokomalomo Basic School in Barotseland / Western Province to the list. On this occasion 200 books were obtained for each school (with a total of over 1500 so far). 1100 kilometres (683 miles) later, they got back to Livingstone at midnight. A real World Book Day story – well done Grace and Herbert!
