Yesterday was a BIG day for us and Linda Community School. Over a year in the planning and making, the school’s first science lab was formally handed over by our contractor Vomeck Enterprises to head teacher Cathy Chilambe in a ceremony also involving the Ministry of Education. After a recent delay waiting for imported parts, the room is now equipped with gas taps, sinks with running water, as well as electricity. It is now ready for the start of term on Monday (delayed in Zambia because of a recent cholera outbreak) and its first students. This is a huge leap forward for the school and the opportunities available to the children. We’re hugely grateful to everyone who has contributed to this, including those who donated to our 2022 Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign – thanks for ‘supporting the lab team’.
