John and Jo (two of our trustees) have arrived in Livingstone, Zambia along with six suitcases of donated items – thank you!

We have obtained our temporary work permits and we have already put them to good use. We have had meetings with Dream Livingstone (our Zambian NGO partner), Grace (Head Teacher of Nekacheya Primary School) and Moses and Gordon who we are working with to potentially assist children with a new school.

It is the rainy season out here which affects education. If there is a roof it will be metal and the torrential rain can make teaching impossible. It also affects the roads as we found out in our taxi on our way to the opening day at Kwathu Free Haven School!!!!!

Kwathu has been built in less than a year by a former IVHQ volunteer, Samantha Knaub. It was great to see Sam, her classrooms full of children and the support from the community. We wish them every success in the future. Here are some photos of the first few days.
