Our trustees Joanne and John were fortunate to spend a wonderful day on Friday with Hesleden Primary School in County Durham. They were invited to join years 5 and 6 on their sponsored walk to raise funds for our building programme at Linda Community School. The children walked for over an hour in each direction, to learn what some of their letter exchange friends in Zambia do coming and going to school every day. Once they reached the coast they were able to enjoy a video link with the children in Zambia and give them a glimpse of the sea. The outing also involved beach litter picking, art and nature studies. The younger children were sponsored to walk laps of the school playground. We look forward to saying thank you to everyone personally when we next visit the school in July. Thanks Hesleden!
