Yesterday a dozen volunteers accompanied head teacher Cathy Chilambe on her visit to the homes of specific children at Linda Community School. These photos give a small insight into the conditions in which many of the children live, often over an hour’s walk from school. We were delighted to distribute donations brought from the U.K., not least knitted bears and blankets made by Josie Hind. The bears are named by supporters at our events after making a donation. Other knitted items came from Blackhall W.I. The volunteers also distributed clothes and other items brought by our friends from Sonskyn, as well as food parcels arranged by Bryony Howard. The walk was eventually curtailed by torrential rain – a regular challenge for the children, all of whom walk to school.
