It was great to see three Zambezi Sunrise Trust supported organisations in the parade marching past the President of Zambia to mark International Women’s Day in Livingstone today. As is traditional, each wore clothes based on a particular chitenge material. The teachers of Linda Community School marched, as did the ladies of Tiyese (‘Let’s Try’) Craft Initiative. Our trustees John and Joanne (who had earlier been at the Tiyese presentation stall, visited by President Hichilema) were able to briefly join the teachers of Nekacheya School. This is the third time they have marched with Nekacheya. Their shirt and dress were made by the ladies of Tiyese. It was a long parade, involving thousands of people and taking over an hour to pass the reviewing stand – with the temperature hitting forty degrees. Well done everyone!
