A new initiative! On Saturday our trustee Joanne and supporter Sue met some of the women of Njoko Mission in Barotseland/Western Province. They discussed the process of setting up a women’s empowerment group focussing on crafts. The result was the formation of the Zambezi Empowerment Initiative! The ladies will focus on the production of hand woven baskets, which differ from the crafts made by the ladies in the groups we support in Livingstone. Several girls dresses, made by Josie Hind in England, we’re also donated to local children. They will serve as a template and the ladies of the group will copy them to improve their skills and provide more children’s dresses for the local community.
