It was a great day on Thursday as we opened our seventh classroom at Linda Community School! The classroom was funded by U.K. lawyers through our ‘Class Action’ fundraiser and was formally opened by Michael Anderson, a solicitor from London, in conjunction with the District Education Board Secretary. The classroom is the second half of our ‘legal’ block, the first having been funded by the Commonwealth Law Conference last year. That was preceded with drumming, singing and dancing by both pupils and parents, as well as the school choir leading the Zambian national anthem. The school‘s new shelter, for which Zambezi Sunrise provided the roofing sheets, was also opened and provided some useful protection from a rain shower during the speeches and later for the provision of refreshments. It was a great atmosphere as Grade 5 were introduced to their new classroom!
