Massive thanks to the 106 people who came to the Zambezi Sunrise Trust Music Night in Durham last night, as well as everyone who donated auction prizes (or bid on them!), raffle prizes, or volunteered their time and talents to making the night such a success. It was a great night, not least because of the fabulous musicians who donated their performances and really entertained us: Hayley McKay, David Neil Crabtree, Sons of Sheila and Kathryn – they all have new fans! Thanks also to Cmp Mr Power and Ali Bullivent for their musical contributions from Zambia. Margaret Clayton, Billie Turnbull and the ladies of Tiyese (‘Let’s Try’) Craft Initiative made items for an extremely popular craft stall. 70 more knitted bears made by Josie Hind have now been named before going to vulnerable children in Zambia. Our latest video, donated by Lonely Tower Film and Media, got across what we’ve accomplished recently. It was a truly memorable night at Durham School (who donated the venue) and while there’s still some maths to be done, we can say that it raised over £4,500. Well done everyone!

UPDATE: The event raised £5,078.33!
