We’d like to send our congratulations and a huge shout out to Tiyese (‘Let’s Try’) Craft Initiative, a women’s empowerment group that we helped establish in Linda compound in Livingstone. They have recently completed an order for 2,500 face masks for Pure Skills, an NGO based in Livingstone, for donation to the Ministry of Health. They were part of a consortium of four NGO’s (funded by Prospero, a UKaid funded private sector development entity), that this week contributed a total of 8,000 masks for frontline health workers in Zambia’s Southern Province. The masks, designed to be as effective as N95 masks, were delivered to Choma, capital of Southern Province, and received by the Director of Public Health. We are delighted to see Josephine Mulauli from Tiyese there, together with representatives from Pure Skills, the Association of Women Artisans (Waya Waya), SAMs Project and School Club Zambia. Well done ladies!!!
